It is very easy to contact an interpreter through Speak Slow! Once you download Speak Slow app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), you can sign up from within the app and choose your language and the language you need help with (no worries, you can change this settings at any moment). The app will automatically list interpreters available at the moment for you according to your language selection. Just pick the interpreter you want to call and put your Phone in Speaker mode; he or she will do their best to assist you!
Speak Slow pricing is as low as possible. This is because we are an online over the Phone Interpretation marketplace that connects directly Interpreters to consumers, no intermediaries. Interpreters set their own prices on demand and list them through the platform. You can see the cost on per minute basis for each available interpreter listed on the platform and select the one that best fits your needs. However, every time you call an interpreter, you have 30 seconds to decide whether or not to keep in the call. If you change your mind in these initial 30 seconds and finish the call, the call won’t be charged.
We are willing to support as many languages as possible! Nevertheless, the interpretation services for a certain language depends on whether there are Interpreters available for that language at the moment the service is requested. We will keep up the good work to increase our language support!
We work hard to maintain the platform, ensure its reliability and keep up the development to improve it. The cost of each call to an interpreter includes our fee and the interpreter fee. Our fee is a percentage of what the interpreter charges.
Yes! Speak Slow is happy to offer a free trial for each new customer. However, it depends on the Interpreters listed at the moment whether the free trial can be consumed at the time the service is requested or later. The free trials are usually a certain amount of free minutes that you can use to call an Interpreter.
Any perfect bilingual is a potential interpreter! However, it is very important that you are committed to professionalism to deliver the best possible service and that you learn and follow our code of Ethics for Interpreters. You must be willing to strive to continually further your interpreting skills and language skills.
If you join Speak Slow as an Interpreter, you do so as independent contractor. You set the work schedule that best fits your needs! To start or stop working is very easy; you just have to mark yourself as active or inactive in the app. When marked as active, it means you are available to assist customers. When marked as inactive you won't receive any calls.
You can set your own price on per minute basis. You charge by the amount of minutes talked during the calls you receive. Although you define the fare for your services, there is an upper limit that can’t be surpassed set by Speak Slow.
